“ "Life without Mexican food? I don't want to taco 'bout it," said an old friend and Don Cuco is the place to go! Located on Tapo Canyon and Cochran on the 118 Freeway exit heading east, is a food haven for all in Simi Valley. I love their wet burrito steak with cheese on top and salsa on the side, too. Their tacos of Al Pastor is like food of the gods cause they'll make you scream for more. They also serve a little more formal dishes like their Carne Asada which is a favorite in this part of town, soft, easy to cut and chew and average in price. Parking is abundant and if you wanted to eat outside of the restaurant, they have heaters and fans, whatever time of the year, you might want to enjoy Mexican. Prices are about average and the cooks are authentic in their tases and presentations. The customer service is outstanding and staff are really nice and kind. ”
“ What an awesome restaurant! I love the vibe and decorations. The service was fabulous! Both the servers and bussers were very attentive. I had the mixed fajitas and the steak was unbelievable along with the peppers and onions. Chips and salsas were delicious. They have a spicier salsa as well that you should definitely try. Oh and the Mexican pizza is a must! It's huge! We will definitely be back! ”
“ Great spot! We had a reservation for 8 on a busy December Saturday evening and were seated right away. The service was fantastic, fast, and friendly. Warm chips and tasty salsa came right away, followed soon by drinks. I had a house margarita and it was perfect. Not too sweet, not too sour, and a generous pour. I ordered the Mexican pizza and my wife had the mixed fajitas. Both dishes came hot and tasted great. The rest of the group was also happy with their meals. The atmosphere is fun and lively. I saw a few other reviews complaining about the red lights for some reason, but I personally really liked the lighting and ambiance. Special shout out to our server and his team of Bussers. They kept drinks full and cleared empty plates within seconds. The manager also stopped by to check on things. Service was outstanding. We will definitely be back. ”
“ Had some dinner here the other night with the family! It was 4 of us and they told us the wait time would be at least 25-30 minutes, but it took maybe 15 minutes to be seated on a Friday night. We ordered some margaritas, I got the raspberry margarita, pretty good! I also ordered the chicken mole enchiladas, they were really good and I got an Albondigas soup with it! Pretty tasty! Chips and salsa are always good! They have a pretty decent size menu, I would love to come back and try more of the menu! ”
“ This is my second visit to Don Cuco in Simi Valley. The first time was during the pandemic when they had outdoor seating. The second time was this past weekend. Both times were great experiences. Great food, large plates and portions, and the most important...wonderful time with the family. Having to experience two different location of Don Cucos I would like to start by saying that each of the locations have been very consistent with food and interior atmosphere. I am not 100% fan of the low light/red setting as it is pretty dark and difficult for the elders to view the extensive menu. But while you're inside you kinda get used to it. One thing that I would like to shoutout is their bean and rice. Going back to the basics the beans and rice here alone are delicious. My mother ordered an al la carte item that didn't have the two and she straight up stole my sides. Don Cuco is a great place for family meals or a hang out at the bar with your friends. Parking: medium size private lot VERDICT: Rinse and repeat ”
